Affordable Surfing Lessons. Every Family, Every Time.
Major surfing companies make massive amounts of profits off of tourists in surfing communities every year. Local big companies in the Daytona area and Cocoa, such as Ron Jon charge 65$ per hour (excluding board rental) for semi-personal lessons (3-4 people). They charge even more for personal lessons, with small deals if there are more people at a time. Not everyone can afford that, and it breaks my heart to hear people who want to surf, but can not afford it. I charge 25$ per hour including surfboard rental. If after three hours, someone wished to continue surfing I will charge 100$ for a full day (normally 5-6 hours depending on my schedule). If more than one person is getting a lesson, I will work out a group price for you. I also have a Gopro to record your experience for 10$ more. Lessons will include safety procedures, rip current awareness, proper paddling form, proper pop up techniques, timing on dismount, reading the wave, and etiquette.
My name is Sean Young, I am 26 years old, married with two baby boys Kai who is almost 2 and Maverick who is almost 1. I am a Marine veteran, and I am now currently in college pursuing an Associates in Paralegal Studies, after which, I am getting a Bachelors in Business. I grew up in New Smyrna Beach, and have been surfing for about 15 years now. While I was enlisted, a few buddies in my unit asked me to teach them to surf, and it gave me a great idea. They all wanted to learn, but couldn't afford the high prices. So I bought a cheap board and charged them for lessons. It worked flawlessly. They all learned how to surf and enjoyed the water, and I made some money. Now that I am in college, I figure why not in my home town? I have been teaching for 8 years now, and I love every minute of it. I do not believe that the beauty of the ocean and the thrill of surfing should be restricted to the wealthy and the privileged.
